01 Jun The kick-off meeting for EFFORT-outcomes Trial

On May 29, 2023, the kick-off meeting for “The EFFect Of high pRotein versus usual care on clinical, muscle, physical function and quality of life outcomes in critically ill patienTs (EFFORT-outcomes)” was successfully carried out. Professor Daren Heyland from Queen’s University, Professor Zheng Yii Lee from the University of Malaya and Professor Christian Stoppe from the University of Würzburg were invited to the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Daren Heyland showed the results of EFFORT trial and shared his insights into future research. Then, Professor Zheng Yii Lee introduced the sub-study of EFFORT trial (EFFORT-outcomes trial) in detail. At the end of the meeting, participants raised the questions and discussed about the trial.

The EFFORT-outcomes trial builds a bridge between the Chinese Critical Care Nutrition Trials Group (CCCNTG) and international clinical trials. It provides an opportunity for Chinese researchers to work together with international experts. Hope the trial run smoothly!
