Abstract: clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of severe acute pancreatitis (SAP) are contained in this opinion paper published by the Italian pancreatic research association. Three expert working groups searched and analyzed the latest literatures, and unified them by using the improved Delphi program, and finally released this report. The definition of severe acute pancreatitis complications, diagnostic methods and the time of conservative treatment, interventional endoscopic treatment, radiotherapy and surgical treatment were recommended.
